Sorry Rhi, they aren't games I've played  :-\ I tend to trust IGN game reviews and metacritic can be pretty reliable. In the end though if it's a franchise you like it's probably going to be more of what you enjoy. There have been games with average reviews that I have really enjoyed because their subject matter is of broader interest to me. Film tie ins are a classic. I liked the Tron game and Ghostbusters. I'd say go for it.
A lot of people don't believe that the loch ness monster exists. Now, I don't know anything about zooology, biology, geology, herpetology, evolutionary theory, evolutionary biology, marine biology, cryptozoology, palaeontology or archaeology... but I think... what if a dinosaur got into the lake?

In true Star Wars fashion BF2 is nothing like as good as the original.  :D

I didn't know there was a Tron game. I keep promising the kids we'll watch the original film - another one I saw at the cinema on release.

The game is based around the events of the sexual, so unless you liked that it's not probably not worth it... although you do get to have disc and light cycle battles.

I assume you have watched Star Wars with your children?... How old were they? I really want my kids to see it without any of the ubiquitous toys and cartoons spoiling the story and characters. I feel like I need to get it done sooner rather than later but four years old?... It's still too young to appreciate it fully! It's a pickle.

Events of the sexual?  :o it's been a while since I watched it but I think I'd have remembered that bit.

I think when it comes to it you just have to try the Star Wars films and see - I think the original would be fine for a four year old, but not the Empire Strikes Back - yes at four the finer points won't be appreciated but then they just grow up with it, if you watch it again a few times.

FWIW aside from lightsabres and a Darth Vader dressing up the only stuff my kids have got into is the Lego mini figures and XBox game.

The Japanese Trailer has a lot more scenes and potential spoilers!

Glad you put the spoiler warning in. I won't be watching it until after I've seen the film.

Funny.. usually when you mention spoilers most people flock to it!!

There are no real surprises in the trailer, just slightly longer and better....

The thing that made me smile was putting the Japanese translation of "star wars" in the Star Wars logo at the end.

Surely everybody and their Yak must recognise that logo by now?

Ah oft accidental comedy of auto correct... damn autocorrect!!!!

sequel. But according to this iPad all sequels should be sexual. That's pretty deep

Btw the Battlefront games are worth a look if you want to switch off your brain and mindlessly shoot stuff, I mean save the galaxy far far away. Plus you get to ride on taun tauns. I've yet to master flying an x-wing though.

Ah, X-Wing - there was a game that needs to be resurrected :( You just can't seem to find good POV combat flight simulators these days.

Good point. X-Wing was fab, and if I remember rightly pretty challenging.

I have been tempted by SW Battlefront Rhiannon, but I tend to enjoy games with a bit of a story to get my teeth into. Hence being excited about Tomb Raider. That being said my go-to 'switch-off' game is Destiny at the moment. Guns, evil aliens, fresh items to hunt for and upgrade... its like meditation.

Actually its quite a serious part of my relaxation. My work involves quite a lot of creative output and problem solving. The pure hand-eye co-ordination and in-the-moment action of a FP shooter seem to use a completely different part of my brain. Its like a mini holiday for my mind.

p.s. did you ever play a game called The Force Unleashed? there are two, but the first game was written as a bridge between Episodes 3 and 4. It had a pretty cool story about how Darth Vader takes on an apprentice who ends up turning against him and basically gives the rebel alliance its initial momentum. His family crest is the rebels emblem. The controls could be a bit clunky... but you play a lightsaber-weilding sith come jedi with crazy force powers who can throw storm troopers around like dolls and pull star destroyers (yes, star destroyers) out of the sky sooooooo.... who cares?

I haven't, Sam. Because the XBox isn't mine (yet ;)) I tend to play games that I can do in short bursts, or on the iPad. I agree entirely about using the games to unwind, for me it's very cathartic and like you I use my brain in a way I never do in day to day life.

I've just hit 280 with a hunter, which is my main. Only get to play a handful of hours a week so it's slow progress but I'm actually really enjoying it. The Taken King is a big improvement on year one. My main problem is I lack friends to do the weeklys, and I have never done a raid  :(

Are you on destiny?

I preferred the second game in the series in which you took the role of an Imperial pilot. The story was better and you didn't have to fly the Y-Wing which was basically the Fairey Battle of the Star Wars Universe.

I usually play Monday evening and Friday late evening. Although, I am going to be away from destiny for a bit because I'm expecting tomb raider to drop through my letter box any minute now  ;D
