What we need is another Minister of Drought. Any moron will do(and our parliament seems full of them). The last one was Denis Howell in 1976 and it seemed to work because as soon as he was elected to that post, God pissed on him, and the drought came to an end.

Started overcast and chilly, but it soon cheered up, and is now warm and sunny.

Dull and chillyish. No breeze.
Good news: it rained overnight; quite heavily, judging by the puddles. The gardens needed t- it's ages since the last significant rainfall. Hopefully, there'll be more to come.

It has rained heavily for most of today, making up for the rain we didn't have in April and most of this month.

Heavy rain, and possibly thunder and lightning, on the way tomorrow, starting in the small hours in Southern England and Wales.

We have had a lot of heavy rain today, but so far no thunderstorms, thank goodness.

We've had cluck-all. Big disappointment.
