Another Saturday, another funeral
« on: October 24, 2017, 06:08:04 PM »
Yesterday the father of a dearly loved friend died, and the funeral is Saturday. The last four months have been a parade of funerals for the parents of loved ones and friends. I will attend the funeral then travel to see my mother and cherish the time I have with her.

My sympathies, NS.
You never get used to them.
I was just counting up...I've manned the doors at my kirk fifteen times since August for funerals...and known every one. It doesn't get easier.

Aye. Cherish them. Hold their hand. Make sure they know they are loved.

(((NS))).

A 'professional mourner'  was the term jokingly used for members of my own family.

What would life be without all the good memories our loved ones have given us through the years and especially our friends.
For me, losing someone means my world changes. Them no longer in the world means it will never be the same for me
again. The world changed most for me, when my own mother passed away. So cherish your mum whilst you can, all of you who
still have their parents. When they go you lose the people who loved you selflessly and no matter what you did.

I am saddened for you today, NS, because I know how difficult it is facing the loss of loved ones.
Remember the good times, be thankful they were your family and friends and live each day to the full for them.
Thinking of you, Saturday and the family and friends of your loved one.

LORD. and loving heavenly Father,

I pray for NS, and all who have family who are sick or attending funerals of loved ones.
Comfort, heal and uphold them in your love and care. Give them solace and peace in their moments of grief.
May all who read or need this care at this time find it. To your Glory and in Jesus Name. Amen.

My prayers are with you.

that's lovely NS, you have reminded me of my own mother, we were very close and she became ill for a long period before she died . Unfortunately I was travelling in New Zealand at the time, I really miss her .

Sorry to hear that (((Walter))), My sister was abroad when my mother died and had to wait a week before she could get back.
My godfather lives in New Zealand always wanted to go. What a shame such a sad thing happened whilst you were there.
