Bank holiday

Absolutely gorgeous here - almost too gorgeous. Going to a castle ater with my bloke and the kids - there’s a siege camp in progress. Tomorrow it’s the Morris men - got to be done. They all end up in the pub singing folk songs after.

Anyone else got plans for this weekend?

No, wish I had in a way but I'll enjoy it well enough. I am going away at the end of the month for a week which includes the bank holiday. We might barbecue tomorrow.

One thing I noticed yesterday was how tatty my house looks inside, much of it needs decorating. I rarely notice such things, the ceiling could fall down before I'd think there was something wrong so it must be the good weather, sunshine streaming through the windows. Chaz and I will have a word with decorators, choose one or two things & if they can come in during the week we're away that'd be good.

Off on a bike ride tomorrow - from Hemel Hempstead, where I live, to Harpenden, Kimpton and Codicote, then out into the East Hertfordshire countryside to explore the villages, and back probably via Hertford, Hatfield and St Albans. I'll take photos, put them in a Flickr album, and post the link.
I came to realise that every time we recognise something human in creatures, we are also recognising something creaturely in ourselves. That is central to the rejection of human supremacism as the pernicious doctrine it is.
