All that you say is true, however the old saying of a stopped clock can be applied here.

It is difficult for me to find myself agreeing with the Telegraph on this issue but it's one of those topics that makes for strange bedfellows. I disagree with the paper on the majority of topics but on this one I don't. And counter to that, I agree with The Guardian on many issues but on this topic I find myself at odds with them. Funny old world.

Glad to see some common sense in this decision that Equalities legislation passed by Parliament was intended to protect single sex spaces for biological women and intended to recognise that trans rights do not trump the biological differences between men and women that mean that women have separate and distinct vulnerabilities compared to men, that need to be taken into account

I totally agree but only because I am a old fuddy duddy, this modern world is complicated enough and it is nice to know that when I offer my clean hanky to a lady ( in case of the vapours or you twist your delicate ankle ) that I am giving it to a real lady in distress

good one - I would have said a few years ago that your scenario is exactly when a trans woman would appreciate that gender stereotype - but these days it was getting so complicated that a man with absolutely no visible feminine qualities could claim to be a "real lady" simply because of some thought he held in his brain that he was a woman / identified as a woman / was a woman trapped in a man's body

(That 88 pages of legal waffle is required to explain that men aren't women and everyone should be treated fairly regardless of characteristics or presentation (within reason) should outrage every tax payer in the country.)

Do not like the way this thread is heading. Violence has no place in any disagreement.

You cannot tell people what to think and therefore what to believe is acceptable or unacceptable to them as individuals.
Transgender, is this something to be accepted by those not transgender? Can you really make those not transgender accept those who are? We should live peacefully and be kind to one another.
Our gender decides our status as female and male, If someone changes their sex is there a change in the human status as we remain male and female?

I think it is time to live in peace. If people cannot fully accept the changes then at least treat those who feel the need to change as the sex they change to.
Treat with respect and enable them to live freely in society the rest of their lives.
