Matthew Wright gave the impression of a current affairs programme with a few light hearted items, since he left the show seems to be getting sillier and sillier.

No, its not just you being grumpy. It has, in my view, become a joke of a program.

In all fairness today's show was a little better. There seems to be a conscious attempt to turn Storm Huntley into a co presenter. I find Storm to be rather bland, that worked as a foil to Matthew Wright's sometimes acerbic nature, but not so with Jeremy Vine's more lighthearted approach.

Jeremy Vine is on Radio 2. In fairness, you’re starting at a fairly dumbed down level there.

On the other hand, Radio 4 is meant to be a bit higher brow, but I tuned into The Today Programme for the first time in a while this morning and was shocked at hearing a completely uncritical interview with Gwynneth Paltrow on the subject of Goop.

The interviewer there did much better than the one on Today. GP effectively said that their "due diligence" amounts to being careful about how they advertise their products. She virtually admitted they say "people believer it has property x" instead of "it has property x" and was not challenged at all on that.
