I gave my husband a 15 year old Glenfiddich as one of his pressies. He enjoys a small glass of it on a Sunday lunchtime, the only alcohol he has in a week.

Christmas all over now, was good (I went into work Friday and Sat for a few hours). Will probably see the new year in at my sister's, dad and in laws are going there too.  Back to normal Wednesday. I'm tired and will sleep a lot tomorrow!

Drinking a Magners now. Typical commercial cider - slightly fizzy, bland, inoffensive, pleasant enough but completely undistinguished. I've got eight more of them to get through, plus some ciders with a bit more oomph, pzazz and va-va-voom about them from Aspall, Henney, Thatcher and Weston.

Same to you Sassy! Glad it was one of the best ones for you. Isn't it 'weird' when it's all over? It's the same every year, an unreal feeling for a while (tho' I felt 'unreal' well before :-) ).

My youngest was 27 on 4th Jan this year (I'm a '4th' child too but April). Eldest one 30 in February, seems like yesterday they were babies but in other ways it's a lifetime! Eldest soon married (youngest has various ideas on the theme of marriage).

Going back to sleep for a while.

Hi Robbie,

I like to think that being at rest and peaceful makes Christmas so good. Did not make my own church this Christmas Eve but went to my friends Beryls church on the way home from spending a couple of hours with her. We met when she took my daughter to school at the age of 2 and been friends ever since.  It has been good the last year. Losing Kath was very very sad but felt God draw nearer to me. My friends really helped and my mums neighbour I love to bits was able to spend an evening with her. 86 and I said she was 87 the years go fast enough.  My daughter 29 and my youngest 23 in May.  His dad with us for Christmas and New Year enjoyed the time. I hope you sleep well and hope your children and grandchildren bring you joy. I am trying to live mine to the full from now on. Hope your life is the same this year for you. Speak soon

No grandchildren yet Sassy but maybe within couple of years? Not something i dwell on but would like if it happened. I'm 58 so prob'ly about right time...... watch this space.

My husband (Charlie) gets a big one & something else for Christmas from a client. I've never tasted it, dislike whisky but he says it's quite nice, we usually take it over to my sister's, sometimes open it at home after lunch & clearing away is done and offer to dad or dad in law or any other person there.
