Great fun - rarely have I encountered very large numbers that relate to me.

I surprise my kids from time to time when I do something clever, which makes them realise I am not quite as senile as they think I am.  ;D

Month/Day/Year? Damn yanks.
I came to realise that every time we recognise something human in creatures, we are also recognising something creaturely in ourselves. That is central to the rejection of human supremacism as the pernicious doctrine it is.

Not the version that I encountered.

Check your locale. I was given the British date format.

It's doing it the proper way now - day/month/year! It was definitely the yank way before.

The thing is it won't add or take anything away from the age we are now. And it sure as damn won't change anything about the future.
Do we really need to be told we are getting OLD or shouldn't that be older.... Wine  gets better as it ages  so age not a bad thing.

If you came upon a glass of wine which had been poured last week, would you drink it or pour it down the sink?  ::)

Only for a few decades, after which it starts todeteriorate, same as us. A bottle of fine wine from 1750 would be rubbish by now.

Why and how would you know the glass had been poured a week ago.

Would that not depend on how it had been stored and if the cork sealed but kept moist and unblown?

Do you know something Churckerbutty... why do people try and find fault with a perfectly acceptable idea?  Do you think it is age or misappropriated popularity ratings? :)

This is the day that I never in a million years thought would dawn - the day that Sassy posted something that I agree with!

Nice one, Sassy!

Like what for instance?

Our religious views are, I regret to say, about 25,000 years apart, and I have seen (N B - seen! I have NOT read every post that Sassy has made) very few posts by Sassy that do not, in one way or another, relate in some degeee or another to her religious beiefs which she holds and defends as strongly as I mine.

Apologies for getting it wrong Owlswing. I didn't look at old posts, it was just her and your  general amiability that made me think that way.

There was a party. People left unfinished glasses of wine around the house.
Didn't get to tidy the spare room until a week later. Two glasses of wine on the table.
What do you think Miss Marple?

I would really begin to feel my age if my family stop teasing me about how old and senile I am. On Jan 23rd next year I shall hide under my bed all day and pretend I am 7 again, and forget about the zero after that number. ;D ;D ;D

If they start teasing you about your senility, that’s a good sign that you are not senile. It’s when they stop teasing you that you need to worry.

Exactly.
I guess it is probably also bad if you can can’t remember if they tease you or not.

Yes that would be worrying. Even our Down's Syndrome son, (nearly 34) teases his old mum, from about the age of three he has been telling me how VERY, VERY OLD I am. ;D

I am not looking forward to being 28.

Oddly I had a wee panic when I was about to turn 27. More so than the 'big' birthdays - which I now try and embrace.
