Yeah feels that way a bit, but it's been that way before and then bounced back. Would love to hear from some theists who have reasonable arguments to make (or indeed any arguments at all) rather than the banging your head against a brick wall merchants, but you never know - some may be among us already but keeping their powder dry for the big reveal!

I would like to think so, but I watch the atheist experience, and I think I have heard all the so  called arguments now.
None of them have been any good, so perhaps all that is left is to keep repeating useless arguments?

The thing is though that having made and interacted with a group of friends for so many years now
, it would be such a shame and quite sad to all drift away and lose touch. That's one of the benefits of the 'searching for god' thread I suppose!! :)

I like your optimism blue. I would visit the site more often if I could stay long enough in one place or get a decent wi fi signal to use my lap top,
I hope it does bounce back and the ones with dry powder come at it with all guns blazing (although their 'evidence' will have to be previously unheard of ) and liven things up again .

Every so often the topic comes up as we have pretty much always been in a slow decline. It's an old fashioned message board used by old fashioned people who are aging, and sadly on occasion dying. Still there are well past 750,000 posts been made on many subjects.

At some point, there will be an insufficient number to make posting worthwhile but that has always been the path.

I think that's a false dichotomy. I've met a number of people on her in some cases frequently. But there are at least a couple who I have knpwn, and chatted with here and elsewhere whom I would regard as friends. I've spent a lot longer talking to t hem, and about much more personal stuff than many I know in the physical.

Over the period the message board has been running. The last one that we know of, and posted about was Bashful Anthony.

I do hope he's still with us, but we haven't heard from lovely Len for a very long time either.

We made various efforts at the time, and while none confirmed that he had died, it seems more than likely.

Yes, the friends here are virtual friends, but sometimes it is possible to assume something about a person from their written words rather than meeting them. This was a lesson I learned long ago. Through a society I had got to know by letter a woman whose exuberance, warmth, intelligence and wonderful way with words was so interesting and we becamefriends. When we met, I was quite taken aback, because her appearance and quite loud voice were so unexpected. This lasted only a moment though, because I had come to know the real person first. We remained friends until she died, too young, in her sixties.

And Elevenses died as well. I think as already covered that it is reasonable to include Leonard James in that number.

I suspect sadly Len is no longer with us, he would be well into his 90s now. :(

I hope this forum has a revival. However, when it looks as if it given up the ghost I hope the Admin will lay it to rest. There is nothing more sad than a forum, which is well past its sell by date.
