You couldn't make it up
« on: October 13, 2019, 07:56:40 PM »
Police in Texas were called in to check the welfare of a 28 year old woman living in her nephew's house.

https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/world-us-canada-50032290

When they arrived at the scene they shot her dead through the bedroom window.

It looks like she may have had a gun when she was challenged which would explain why she was shot. But guns are legal in Texas and she probably had it because she thought the police were intruders.

The USA is insane.

That is a really heartbreaking story, poor woman and what a dreadful shock for her nephew. He's never going to forget it.

Nor is the neighbour who noticed that a door was ajar. He thought there might be an intruder so he called the police.

This is another innocent black person killed by (presumably) precipitous police action.

That was my first reaction too, but as I wrote my post, I got really angry too. There are so many things wrong with it over and above the simple tragedy.
