Why The Second Amendment?
« on: November 12, 2019, 01:57:54 PM »
I was looking at something unrelated to this second amendment thing on YouTube, and saw this come up:

The Second Amendment by Newt Gingrich, (I think Newt is a reference to his brain size).

I thought I'd have a listen, if not inspiring I thought it'd may well be interesting, it was that, the lengths the R F A goes to sell it's guns are horrific words fail me, have a listen it's at the very least noteworthy.

Regards to all, ippy.

I take it we're talking about the American right to wear sleeveless tops.
I came to realise that every time we recognise something human in creatures, we are also recognising something creaturely in ourselves. That is central to the rejection of human supremacism as the pernicious doctrine it is.

Do you mean "why did they institute the Second Amendment" or "why do they still think it is relevant"?

The former is mainly because they wanted to balance states' rights against those of the federal government. If there is a dispute between the federal government and a state, if only one side has an army with guns, that side can get its way by threatening force.

They still think it's relevant because they are a bunch of scaredy cats, or they all have small willies or something.

I see this kind of promotion as more pushing the sales of guns for big business in the US, those that want to promote gun sales are hardly going be as unsubtle as to stand up and just say 'we want you to keep on buying more and more guns'.

When you see some of the money paid for product placement and actors posing with guns another form of product placement in a lot of the Hollywood films, I can't think for one moment the purveyors of these guns would be missing a promotional opportunity.
