My thought that Andy Murray might not olay again this year was wrong. He's playing in the 250 points tournament in Cologne, and is due to play Verdasco on Tuesday.

I noticed that Djokovic is not playing in Paris next week and this explains why. Given the current Covid situation in Paris feels odd that this is going ahead

Good win for Evans over Dimitrov. Only one send in the semifinals in Vienna and that's Rublev who put out the number 2 seed , Thiem.

Sonego beats Evans in the semi finals. Rublev progresses after Anderson retired hurt which must be very worrying as this was him looking good returning from injury

Evans beaten by Wawrinka.

Anderson played which I was a bit surprised by, won his first match against Djere when Djere pulled out injured during the match, but then Anderson has pulled out in the middle of his next match with Medvedev.

Big win by Wawrinka over Rublev. When the season restarted, Wawrinka looked stale and unlikely to get back to anywhere near his best. Given he's 35 which was once a million and nine in tennis years, unless you were Ken Rosewall or Jimmy Connors, that wouldn't be that surprising. He's now up to a provisional 18 ranking, and if the results work out 1 more win could move him back into the top 16.

Zverev beats Nadal, and Medvedev beats Raonic to make the final.

Medvedev wins, and moves into 4th ranked pushing Federer down to 5th. There is a possibility with a set of results that I don't think will happen that Zverev could take 5th spot before the end of the year.

Medvedev has made strides over the end part of the season and it's the Slam title that he is lacking having had 2 Slam finals. Been disappointing return so far for Tsistipas.

Jamie Murray and Neal Skupski slipped from 7th to 9th in the doubles team rankings this week putting them in the 9th spot for the end of year tournament. They are playing this week in an attempt to get back into the 8th and last qualifying position before the qualifiers are finalised. I suspect given the numbers their best chance may be being the alternates and someone pulling out.

If they don't get in that will leave Joe Salisbury as the sole British representative in London

Djokovic was awarded the year end No 1 ranking trophy today and became the oldest male player to be ranked no 1 at the end of the year. That beats the record set by Nadal last year.

Straight sets wins for Djokovic and Medvedev. Strange to think that while Djokovic is going for a 6th year end title, that he has not won it since 2015.
