Surely attending given he was nominated would be problematic if this stance is taken? That said, this is one of those cases I feel ambivalent about.

I think the case should be dismissed as even the victim wants it all to go away.

As for the awards ceremony, I really don't know. Polanski has directed a film and made a good job of it. If he really was the best eligible director for the award, it would make a mockery of the prize for somebody else to get it "just" because he is a rapist.

I don't know what the best solution is here.
