If a child commits a terrible crime like murder they are likely to be a danger to others, they should put in a unit where steps are taken to find out why they did it, and to try to reform them.

So you do accept that the child isn't capable of 'taking responsibility' in the same way as an adult?

I agree with that but unfortunately a lot of the secure placements for children are not very good;  children who go there are often further corrupted and even raped.
