I don't know whether this is worth a go but sometimes you come across a graphic that illustrates something well and subverts what some people want us to believe:

And very little to do with the specific actions of the Mayors, I would suggest.

I'd agree. I posted it because of the difference between reality and perception.

I get that. That perception is created by politicians and media with an agenda which ignores both facts, and that the ups and mostly downs are not something that are easily attributable to actions of mayors. I suspect there's been very little concrete differences in policies in any of the mayors here that you could argue had an effect.

I think that one is a bit more complex, since there has been a decline over time but a rise at one pount more recently that, thankfully, seems to be in current decline. Add to that much greater access to news about terrorist attacks worldwide, and that the 'deadliest' attacks are all this century, and I'd suggest this is a less egregious misrepresentation.
