Sad passing, especially for all Avengers fans.

I remember, years ago visiting the church at Bosham and a local told us that Patrick had been a resident at one time and had expressed a wish to be buried there. I'm not sure that that is going to happen though.
(just to avoid any confusion with the other Avengers)

Sad? Surely at 93 with a life well lived, one doffs one's bowler and just says 'Well played, sir'?

I agree with NS there is nothing sad about someone dying at a ripe old age like McNee.

The avengers is still showing on TV every week night at 8pm on channel 61 freeview.

For me it is 'Sad' in as 'end-of-an-era' kind of way - but Good Innings - that's for sure

The programme was of its era, it should be laid to rest, imo.

It was a part of my adolescence (and of a generation) and as such it will always be special for some of us. I still have fantasies about Diana Rigg in leather catsuit :)

It was part of mine too, but I don't get sentimental about the stuff I watched then or since!

Perhaps Diana Rigg in a catsuit didn't have quite the same impact on you ;)

Patrick Macnee appeared in Battlestar Galactica in two roles-as Imperious Leader, and as Count Iblis. It was weird seeing John Steed on another planet.
