I don't know if there are any other Wallander fans here but his creator, Henning Mankell, has died. He was diagnosed with cancer last year.

Sad news. I liked the Wallander TV series very much (especially with the part played by Krista Henriksson*). I understand that Mankell had links with South Africa and was a great humanitarian.
*The earlier series, shown later here, starring Rolf Lassgård, was also very good, but didn't convey the sensitive streak that was written into the Wallander character. I wonder how many people have named their dogs after an operatic tenor?
