Oh goodness, no  :'(

Often difficult music not easy for everyone to get their earoles around - not my natural area of music. But he was a sweet and kind man, and I was within spitting distance of him at the Albert Hall the night that he conducted the premiere of the Seventh Symphony and only just missed out on shaking his hand - that night will stay with me till I die.

Sad to hear. One of the more luminous exports of my old music college (John Ogden and Alexander Goehr being two other stars).

It is probably always this time of year that we hear of the highest number of  famous people passing away.
RIP Peter, at 81 he had a good innings God bless him and his family at this time.
