I've been unable to access this forum for a week or so and, according to a site that supposedly tells you whether it's just you or everyone who's affected, the forum's been down for everybody during this period. Now that it's miraculously reconnected for me I can see that the forum hasn't been down for everyone after all. Can anyone offer an explanation for this?

I'm guessing that you have been hit with the issue covered in the thread below - we don't control it but it can usually be got round by use of a proxysite such as this https://www.proxysite.com

I can only get onto this forum by using the proxy site.

Thanks. I seem to remember hearing that free proxy servers are unsafe. Is this https://www.proxysite.com definitely OK to use?

Yes, though I wouldn't use it for anything financial. I also wouldn't use a password on here that I use elsewhere.

Thanks again.
