It can't go electric as things stand. The format of the race makes it impossible to build a car that can do the distance at the sort of speeds that F1 followers expect.
At this point, I think it is more likely that F1 will simply wither away.

Hamilton equalling Schumacher's win record is extraordinary. How high will he go?

My dad died when I was four and a bit.
One of the memories I have is sitting with him watching Jim Clark driving on the telly, and I've been an F1 fan since that day.
Hamilton is up there as a skilled driver, alongside heroes such as Clark, Stewart, Rindt, Andretti, Fittipaldi, Prost, Shumacher and Senna.
Whether he is the best is moot - let's see what the new season spec on F1 cars bring next year.
If Verstappen has aslightly better car under him, he might run Hamilton close.

It probably isn't his last win this year. Since the cars will be essentially the same next year and assuming Hamilton is still at Mercedes, I'd say he can go to 100 wins with reasonable confidence.
This is quite incredible. When Schumacher retired, it was generally thought that his records would be unbeatable, but here we are. And, it's entirely possible that in eight or nine years time, we could be having the same conversation about Verstappen.

It's generally impossible to compare different eras in the way I am about to. Of your list, I would say only Clark, Schumacher and Senna are in the same league as Hamilton. From before, even your time, I would add Fangio. I would also put Alonso into the mix.

Hamilton has tested positive for the virus, he has mild symptoms, so will not be racing for a while.

Will put on hold the accumulation of records but he's world champion easily, and will win Sports Personality of the Year.
