I wonder if this idea was invented by somebody in the USA part of the company who didn't fully understand the significance of Krystallnacht.

Apparently, it was automatically generated by a computer, which sent these messages out on anniversaries etc. At least it didn't recommend the baconburgers!

Well somebody must have given it a list of commemorations that included Krystallnacht. Surely it occurred to them that not all anniversaries are appropriate to being commemorated with cheesy chicken...

Perhaps the calendar was just a digital one of significant cultural anniversaries that was imported and used as a look up with no or minimal validation?
