Title: Jeremy Paxman: Parkinson's 'makes you wish you hadn't been born'
Post by: Nearly Sane on April 12, 2024, 09:01:58 AM
The only way to achieve a lot of what the petition in the article asks for is a substantial increase in funding, and a complete rejig of service provision. They may well be laudable aims but to expect any govt just to say yes would be naive. Paxman is using a polite dishonesty to ramp up the emotion of the case, especially given that we are in prepreelection mode.

I will be interested to see if any manifestos have any specific proposals on neurodegenerative care.

The problem at this stage and state of our healthcare system is that you can substitute pretty much any of the many serious diseases and make the same requests.
