I think that sporting boycott are always a matter of some very odd line drawing about what is acceptable behaviour.but I think that this is a reasonable case.

Politics should normally be kept out of sport, but where a regime discriminates on grounds of sex, race or ideology in its sports, a boycott is justified. Afghanistan under the Taliban does so discriminate, so yes, a boycott is justified.  Also, strict economic and cultural boycott, including boycotts of other countries that break those boycotts.

Lisa Nandy worried for sports fans enjoyment and ignored the use the Afghan govt make out of a cricket team that they in theory don't support
