Things are a bit murkier than the headline, and some of the text suggests in that I don't think it is clear that it is reasonable to retrospectively designated a country and enemy, and effectively the accusation from Badenoch that the Starmer govt is costing up to China is fatuous since it was the policy of the govt she was in that is the central problem. That said I do 't think the approach of the Starmer govt to the prosecution has been entirely transparent as the prosecutors have made clear.

Tom Tugendhat "accused the government of being obsessed with following the correct process, rather than doing everything it could "to make sure the prosecution works". " Bit odd when you get an MP essentially saying that process can just be ignored.
