On a scale of 1 to ohmygibbergibbersnortcollapse of meeting people with a smidgen of fame, I was much more impressed that one of them was Bob Holness' daughter. They weren't my types.

Was there such a thing as Indie when Bananarama started out? Or more accurately, maybe Indie was actually the norm and the manufactured stuff the exception. See Strawberry Switchblade.

I think Indie was more the norm, on reflection. Strawberry Switchblade IMHO were superior to Bananarama, who always tended to sound bored. A correspondent on another site did tell me that Bananarama did make one record which included one of them singing a lead vocal, bit I could not be bothered to check it out.
