McCartney III
« on: January 15, 2021, 07:47:23 PM »
Over the last few weeks I have been listening to Paul McCartney's latest offering which he recorded by himself in deepest Sussex during lockdown. I have avoided reviews of the album as I wanted to form my own opinion of the music without outside interference.

My opinion it is the best thing he's done in over a decade since Chaos and Creation in the Backyard.

I have now read a bunch of reviews and they all seem to agree with me particularly this one:

Which says its the best thing he's done so since "Chaos and ......."

Anyway it has some great pieces on it, I particularly like the opener which is a kind of blues tinged number called "Long Tailed Winter Bird", and the "Deep Down Feeling" centrepiece. There are a couple of less good songs but as a whole it is very enjoyable and surprising.

If you haven't watched Idris Elba and Paul McCartney that was on just before Christmas, it's worth it.
