I can understand that there might be issues around surrogacy but that surely applies for mixed sex couples as well. I will note that the BBC headline is not exactly impartial.

No, I got that - it was me not being clear. I was saying that the surrogacy argument only has weight if you apply it to mixed sex couples as well.
The issue with the headline is using the term 'parents' when that's what the issue is.
