Maybe....but what is behind our inability to stop this happening?

The deliberate weakening of governance and the filleting of local government to such an extent that they are unable to pursue these cases with any real hope of achieving anything.

This is, of course, after 14 years of cuts, cuts, cuts in the name of being slimmer and more agile. Being able to do more with less. Work smarter. All bollocks so that a certain party of greedy, amoral guttersnipes could rip the country apart for the financial good of the few, and not the many.

Agreed. And Jenrick is known to be corrupt but the problem is that the approach of some to such questions was merely to downplay it as stupid, and in doing that a few more voters will now drift off to Reform. Thete are Labour MPs doing good work on this but they get ignored for a few cheap laughs at Jenrick.
