I'm of the opinion that we should seriously consider declaring war on France now!

We'd probably lose that too though.

No way. French will surrender straight away as always.
Peace through superior firepower.

Nah....long live the Auld alliance!
"for, as long as but a hundred of us remain alive, never will we on any conditions be brought under English rule. It is in truth not for glory, nor riches, nor honours that we are fighting, but for freedom - for that alone, which no honest man gives up but with life itself."

I wouldn't mind that too. Something different. They have a West Ham player as well.

Now then.

I know! It was a stereotype. But why against the French! Almost anyone else would have done. Now they've got years of one upism.

Winning the World Cup with a West Ham player would certainly be remarkable.

I don't think so - World Cup 2022 won't be defined for the French by beating England. For them it will be defined as either:

France embarrassingly capitulate to Morocco - or

French final heartbreak to Croatia/Argentina - or

Triumphant France retain World Cup

The quarter final won't get a look in.

As Henning Wehn once said.

"England-Germany is always a big game, although for Germany there are usually much bigger games to follow".

Of course, on this occasion, Germany's defining game wasn't a much bigger game or even an England match.

The England France match will not be the one that the French remember from this World Cup.

They will remember that one of their players became only the second player in history to score a hat-trick in a World Cup Final and yet they still lost.

I had to laugh as Ally McCoist commented along the lines of,
The first hat trick in as WC final where the ball crossed the line for all three goals!
"The word God is for me nothing more than the expression and product of human weaknesses, the Bible a collection of honourable, but still primitive legends.'

I'm going for a really bad draw, because that, a loss for Southampton and a loss for Bournemouth might see the bottom four managers getting fired.

I think he's proved he can't - to the satisfaction of the Everton board, anyway.

Fat Frank is the seventh EPL manager to be sacked or depart* this season.

https://www.footballtransfers.com/en/transfer-news/uk-premier-league/2021/10/what-managers-have-been-sacked-this-season

For reference, only ten managers were sacked during the whole of last season.

Graham Potter may be in danger of being sacked twice. Actually I think Graham Potter left Brighton.

*The seven includes Graham Potter leaving Brighton.
