Odd little quiz. I do wonder about whether the questions were answered honestly.
https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-50487054
-
6/10 for me - which I assume means that I agree with the majority 6 times out of 10.
-
I can't get the quiz to come up. However I did see the bit about people taking a sickie when they weren't ill, that is disgusting and immoral! >:(
-
7/10 for me - but I found some of the questions difficult to answer because they specified a situation which did not apply to me.
For instance, would I read my partner's social media private material. I haven't got a partner - so it's hypothetical. And I can only once "taking a sickie" because I was going for an interview for a job which would enable me to escape a job in which I was not happy.
-
Also 7/10 but as HH implies the questions don't fully cover all options.
-
And it's very black and white in some of them. I also struggle with whether it means 'Do you think this is immoral' as opposed to 'would you do this'. I know that people might do something that they think is immoral, but my suspicion is that at base that's a worry about getting caught, and that they actually do think it's ok for them.
-
I scored 7/10 - it says I have a rebellious streak, which has cheered me up no end.
-
And looking at it I am not sure how the question "Do you agree women and men are born to have different roles?" is about morals, I also don't really understand the VR question, surely it depends on what the point of the game is?
I got 4/10.
-
I thought the VR question was odd too - it's a game, and being able to kill artificial characters in a game isn't really a moral question any more than shooting artificial ducks at a fairground stall is.
-
The choices for is it ever right to cheat on your partner were bizarre - who on earth says 'Yes, if it's with a celebrity'?

10% of young people apparently.
(8/10 for me)

I answered that it was absolutely fine, but that apparently puts me in a small minority.
But it's a game. It's not real. It's no more immoral than Agatha Christie writing books in which one of the characters murders somebody.
-
I managed to do the quiz in the end, I thought my score would have been higher.
Somewhat rebellious, somewhat socially aligned. Your values are a mix-and-match of those surveyed.
Your score:
6/10
I agree with the rebellious bit, certainly when I was younger.

That was my take as well - that said I would be more uncomfortable with the idea of torture or rape as mentioned in the reply.

That's an interesting point. The same logic applies but I don't think I could ever rape somebody in a game. If it was an action that was necessary to progress, I think I would stop playing the game. In fact, if it was even possible to rape somebody in game, it means the game designer deliberately programmed it in, so I would probably not play that game.
And yet, I have no problem blowing my enemies to smithereens in computer games. I am disturbed by my own inconsistency.

I suppose there are times where we are more likely to see killing as justified but not rape. And My reaction to a game with rape would be the same as yours.

No surprises for me then
3/10
I'm an absolute rotter 😂😱

and I guessed about right for you too.
I must add that I'm one of those " do as I say, not as I do " types .
I know , hard to believe ! 😂👽

Yep, with you on that. Of all the scores people have put up the only one I can honestly say was surprising was LR - I mean 6/10 is borderline being down with the scum like us. ;)

My guess is she did the quizz at least twice and realised she looked too goody two shoeos so made up her score to give her some street cred 😇

I doubt LR pursues street cred, she rolls her own rebellious way. I can just picture her in the Brando role in The Wild One being asked what she was rebelling against and replying 'What've you got?'.

"FYI" Told ya , street cred ! 😳
Lr
You've gotta get up to get down 💃

haha
More like
Rebel without a cause ( or understanding )
Lr ,
Just kidding ( I think👽)

I don't need street cred. I have always done my own thing from a very young age, often putting myself in danger, like the time I tackled a gang of youths who were taunting an elderly bag lady. I have no doubt I would do the same today if the situation arose. My favourite refrain is, 'don't do anything I would do', the response is usually, 'no we wouldn't be that stupid'! ;D

The outlook of that great philosopher Groucho Marks comes to mind: 'Those are my principles, and if you don't like them...well I have others.'

my fave is ;
I'd never join a club who'd have me as a member .
Btw , I live alone . I've often wondered why ?

careful now, you're not as young as you used to be 😈

The secret of life is honesty and fair dealing. If you can fake that, you've got it made.

Well that isn't going to make any difference to me being me.

so true ,did you make that up yourself ?
Of course you did 😎

Just another one of Groucho's as is
There's one way to find out if a man is honest - ask him. If he says, 'Yes,' you know he is a crook.
-
7/10 for me.

Robbie ,
We are meant for each other 😍

I never forget a face, but in your case, I'll be glad to make an exception.

You would need a blindfold as the sight might be so horrific. ;D
I have always been bad at remembering faces, especially those of women, it has got worse in my old age. :o
-

Likewise - but you simply get points for agreeing with the masses, rather than for any 'right' answer. So all this does is determine whether your views are mainstream.
I did find the question about VR gaming strange simply because, as others have pointed out, it is a game. I replied 'sometimes' and I think that is one of my 'wrong' answers. I'm not a gamer, and what we might be missing are the rules and expectations in first person shooter games - I think in many cases the rules expect you not to shoot civilians and you lose points for doing so. So avoiding shooting them is part of the game. So there may be a huge community of gamers out there who have an in-built ethical code that you don't shoot civilians in games and I am not part of that community.

Never let your principles get in the way of doing the right thing.

i would've been ashamed of myself if I'd got a score above 5
