It looks incredible.

I don't believe it. Some people are calling for a boycott of a film because the lead actor is black. This is a film in a series whose characters have previously included at least one black person, a furry thing like a bipedal dog, an irritating amphibious git, a crime boss that seems to be a slug and two protagonists who aren't even organic.

Well, hello, what have we here?

Btw the best thing about Star Wars Battlefront is the chance to be a super battle droid and shoot gungans. I then ride about on their dinosaur things - I like to think I've broken my programming.

Just when I thought you couldn't get any cooler Rhiannon  ;)

Yes, the trailer is ace, the film looks amazing and I feel like a little boy again. I want to get my toy light sabre out of the loft (yes I still have it... Why would I get rid of that?!)

I have tickets to see it at the BFI IMAX and I CAN NOT wait!!!!!!!!!!
A lot of people don't believe that the loch ness monster exists. Now, I don't know anything about zooology, biology, geology, herpetology, evolutionary theory, evolutionary biology, marine biology, cryptozoology, palaeontology or archaeology... but I think... what if a dinosaur got into the lake?

It looks like it's going to be very emotional, quite apart from the awesome sfx. I think I am quite likely to need lots of tissues.

So, does anyone have any ideas why Luke Skywalker has been deliberately omitted from the trailer?

He's in it, you just have to use the force to see him!

They want to keep his appearance in the film a surprise.

It's not difficult to find some google images. One is apparently of the action figure.

Was that in reply to me? Because I was being facetious. He's credited amongst the cast in the IMDB page for the film.

I thought you meant appearance as in looks, not just being in it. The images are very Jedi but there's speculation he's actually become a Sith.

That would please my nephew who always preferred the characters from the dark side.

It's worth checking out the fan made 'super' trailer. All they have done is edit together the material from all the released teasers and trailers. It's good.

As for Luke... I read an interesting assesment of the trailer that pointed out that because everyone knows the universe and many characters from Star Wars already the director could make the trailer very lean on plot giveaways. There was no need to sell the film based in the plot so why give away the best bits? It means that all the important stuff will hit us in the film, within the emotional context that it is meant to be seen first time... Exciting stuff. But hence no Luke. He must be an important part of the story.

And I doubt he has turned to the Dark side. I think perhaps he is in isolation, scared by the 30 years of war since ROTJ and waiting for some opportunity to restore the force.

Yes, I favour the idea that he's living like ObiWan Kenobi, as some kind of hermit.

I think it's going to have huge emotional impact. I went to see A New Hope when it was first released, when I was eight or nine and these characters have been a part of my life for as long as I can remember.

Grrrrr, the film I went to see was called "Star Wars". Calling it "A New Hope" just reminds me that George Lucas ruined everything for profit.

Sorry.  :-[

I've never actually watched the prequels. Shooting droidekas on Battlefront aside, I pretend that they don't exist.

Gutted that Lucas replaced Sebastian Shaw with Hayden Christensen at the end of ROTJ btw.

Well... did you see the latest Star Trek films? They were great.  It's the same director that has made the new Star Wars film. Soooooooo....

The JJ Abrahams Star Trek Films start with an event that alters the course of history, thus there is nothing to be behind.

Except the second film needs you to have watched a two episodes of ToS and one of the earlier films to fully appreciate it.

Samuel,

Do you think Star Wars Battlefront 1 or 2 is better? And is 3 worth getting?
