A friend of mine went to the WI anniversary party at Buckingham Palace and had to pay for that privilege too.

As Girl Guide my eldest daughter helped at Buck House garden party in the late 80s, she was paid £2 for the privilege!

As a neighbour of ours, when I was growing up, once memorably said:
"I'd rather sit on the toilet with the shits and toothache than watch that lot"
On that occasion he was talking about Mansfield Town FC - but I think it applies equally here.
