No, but I'm relieved it wasn't otherwise.

Quote

An attempted military coup has apparently been defeated in Turkey, in a bid to oust the president, Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, accusing him of undermining the country’s secular traditions.
Erdoğan, who returned to Istanbul in the early hours of the morning from his holiday in the resort of Marmaris, said the attempted coup was “treason” undertaken by “a minority within our armed forces”.

Boris Johnsons comment on Twitter at the bottom of the article.

That President is the guy Boris Johnson won the offensive poem competition on.

Hey! do you think Boris Johnson could be offered a job as a producer and writer for Spitting Image once he's finished with his present role?

President Putin as " Dobby the house elf" and Hilary Clinton as the " dyed blond pouty lipped, blue hard eyed, mental nurse"

Something doesnt seem right here, it seems too half hearted, badly planned using conscripts it seemed and

Erdogan was not immediately silenced. He was able to speak via national tv and able to fly to Istanbul. Within a few hours he had pushing 3000 judges removed and arrest warrants out for hundreds more administrators and military. He has been slowly tightening his grip and while I am not one for conspiracies something smells fishy here.

Erdogan is a meglamainiac snake oil salesman who locks up journalists and bloggers and has been slowly tightening his grip on the country. This is his very own night of the long knives.
How can something so perfect be so flawed.

That is indeed a worry. Erdogan is very scary.

I assume that what you mean by that that the 'coup' was orchestrated. It does seem to have come at an opportune moment when Turkey has a gun at the EU and NATO's heads - immigration and Syria/ISIS.

It could mean the destabilization of Turkey as they engage full throttle against the Kurds, and ISIS up their stakes there. Immigrants could have a case for not being sent back or deported to Turkey as it starts to fall apart as the half that is being victimized there could join forces with the Kurds or something.

I missed this as I just looked at the last few posts. So you too think that something smells fishy in all this.
