Another slice of childhood gone - in the mid 1960's The Man From Uncle, along with Dr Who, were the two shows everyone watched and discussed in school: RIP Mr Solo.

Not a good day.

The original man from uncle and watched the film the other night. It is sad how our childhood memories of the actors we never forget come to an end.
The circle of life the same for all and a reminder our minds never grow old and our spirits, just our bodies. :)

Like everyone else (of a certain age) I was a devotee of UNCLE. Still hooked on the Doctor, though......waiting impatiently for the animation of "Power of the Daleks" (Troughton) to drop through my letter box (or should I say materialise) in a fortnight.

Napoleon Solo is no more? Used to love watching that series (and The Magnificent Seven is one of my favourite films).

David McCallum is still going strong hopefully.

Yes, The Man from U.N.C.L.E was an old favourite.

Another, more recent, the Hustle.... loved the 'slickness' of all the characters in that one.

Rest in Peace, Robert..

David McCallum is main cast in NCIS - one of the USA's most watched TV shows. He's definitely still going strong.

It's interesting that everybody is talking about Man from UNCLE. That was before my time. To me he is and will always be Albert Stroller.

Have to admit to having never associated the 'Stroller' actor with the 'Napoleon Solo' or 'Lee' actor of earlier days.  I suppose that this might have had something to do with my not being aware that RV was still alive in the early 2000s.
