Ranking points for tennis No. 1 men's singles

 Can anyone tell me, please,  how many points Murray and Jokavich have at the moment and how it will be decided who is No. 1? Thank you. I've been googling it but I cannot understand the charts and info!

As of the results yesterday Murray has 12185 points, Djokovic 11780. The winner of the final today gets 500 points. In addition Murray will lose 275 points in a week's time when the points he won at the Davis Cup last year drop off. The winner today, no matter who, will be end of year Number 1 in the rankings.

Djokovic has had a 'bad' 2 or 3 months recently, and because Murray was out of contention following his back operation for a lot of last year, a lot of the points he's picked up this year have counterbalanced Novak's from last year.

  The back operation was in 2013, with recovery in 2014 at the start. There isn't really any counterbalance in it currently because all the points are this year other than the 275 Murray has yet to drop that he gained in the Davis Cup. Had there been many points available for the Olympics, then Murray  would finish No 1, no matter what today's result would be. In 2012, winning the Olympics was worth 750 ranking points.

I took my comment from what he and a couple of commentators said, NS.  I am aware that the recovery took place during the most of 2014, but he hadn't fully recovered till the spring of this year.

Andy replaced Djokovic as number one earlier this month. Had Djokovic won this evening's match though Andy would have lost the title.

So, well done that lad! But, I agree, Hope, Djokovic has lost form over the last few months. Maybe, just maybe he has peaked (?)... there has to come a time.

The next lad to look-out for, I'd say, is Milos Raonic.... a very composed young man.

It was for me a bit of a close call yesterday evening between watching the end of Murray's match or Greg in the dance-off! Murray won
Murry's several, hard-fought matches obviously helped his skills rather than having rested, as Jokovic had.
