Liz Smith has died...

.... at the age of 95.

Wonderful, unassuming actress that went quietly along playing mostly the dithering comical old lady.

There are some great quotes from her on Wiki, eg:

One of the best parts of growing older? You can flirt all you like since you've become harmless.

I was not aware that Liz was such a great age.

I always tend to think of her as playing darkly comical, slightly surreal characters. RIP.

Yes, you're right Humph, she wasn't always 'dithering' in her roles.

No but she was damned good at it. She was superb in A Private Function.

The 'Royal Family' and 'The vicar of Dibley' were two such roles in comedy she excelled at.
But I cannot remember being anything but good in her roles.
Two of the old school actresses like Thora Herd and Hattie Jaques in her time.

What an innings.. Will miss her.
