Of all the celebrity people who have died in recent years, only Terry Pratchett's death affected me in anything like the way the death of a friend or family member would.

I didn't know Sir Pterry but I felt I did know Sam Vimes, Rincewind, Esmé Weatherwax, Angua etc and they all died with him.

Did you have to mention Granny Weatherwax's death? Yes - I've read it......... Anyway, you can bet I'll be watching.

Same here! I will always remember waking up and reading about his death on this forum, I think it was old Sane who broke the news to me, anyway, I now think about  his passing with the thought that he left us the way he wanted to go, a large brandy and cigar in hand.

Sorry!! But not dead, never dead! They all sit happily on my bookshelves and never forget that the Librarian guards his work, he keeps them right next to his other favourite luxury, his bananas ;)

Here is some totally useless information: I'm fairly sure I've mentioned it ages ago, but an anagram of Terry Pratchett is Three tart Crypt. I saw it somewhere and think it was pretty clever!! .

I think it was a very good programme yesterday evening. The actor who played the part of Terry was just about indistinguishable from the original.  Definitely worth turning on the TV for. I loved the bit at the end when - presumably at the memorial celebration? - they sang , 'Always look on the bright side of Death'!!

Does anyone have any more information about that event?
