Gary Neville said you'd like football a little less if they sacked him. I agree. Leicester deserve relegation and they deserve to be footballing nonentities again.

Bitter taste in my mouth reading that. With him there, i hoped they would avoid relegation. Now fuck'em.

The Times is saying that the players turned against Ranieri, if that's true, wow, gratitude, eh?    Football is just a business, of course, at the top, but there is a queasy connection still with the romanticism of it, which the rich owners milk.

Yeah, Wes Morgan thinking he's John Terry. Classy.

Well when John Terry appeared on the pitch in a Leicester strip when they won the League, it was easy to get confused.  ;)

It's interesting that Chelsea sacked Mourinho after winning the title, but neither Chelsea nor Mourinho are seen as romantic figures.   It's just business in this case, well,  yeah.   Also, M is strongly disliked I guess, serve him right, and so on.

I think the difference is that both Chelsea and Man City, who have also sacked league-winning managers, should be winning the league and the CL with their resources and talent. Leicester overachieved and what is awful is a bunch of ordinary players sticking the knife in the back of the man who made them great ones, even if only for a season.

That's surely because Chelsea with Abramhovic's cash and the players were expected to win the league?

It's ridiculous, here I am a grown woman reading Ranieri's gracious statement and actually crying.

According to the Currant Bun the players who got him sacked were Morgan, Schmeichal, Albrighton and Vardy.

If the relationship between the players and the manager has broken down, you have to do something and you can't sack the players. Ranieri has, apparently made some decisions that have left the players confused and lacking in confidence. If the reports I read today are correct, he had to go.
