Last night's documentary on the Lions was absolutely superb!
Mind you, I would say that 'cos I used to be an avide fan of the Bhoys back in the day - and I've stood in the Jungle and got wet when there wasn't a cloud in the sky......

I liked the documentary because it tried to give a sense of the time. It was impressionistic rather than detailed.

Yes.
It struck the right note with elements of humour, a look at the setting - and references to the lions who no longer roar.

The astonishing feats of Celtic, Rangers - even Kilmarnock - in '67 are conviniently glossed over in the histories of 'british' football - but the undoubted prominance of these three - and the national team which thrashed England - point to the fact of the Scots influence - if names like Busby, Shankley and Stien were not enough.
