'Dunkirk'

Just been to see Christopher Nolan's  film,'Dunkirk'. I thought it was well acted throughout, but was extremely disappointed in the film itself. I found it boring, limited, lacking in expansive or even important historical detail, and with an ending which seemed overly sentimental.

I wonder if it has been sanitised somewhat to keep the age rating down. The presence of Harry Styles suggests that it will be marketed to teens as much as adults. Something similar happened with Daniel Radcliffe appearing post-Potter in the Woman in Black.

I heard Mark Rylance say exactly that in an interview on the radio.

Just to say that the verdict of those I know who've seen this is one of disappointment. A good enough film that could have been a great one sums it up.
