The bones of Amelia Earhart?
« on: March 09, 2018, 08:17:42 AM »
I remember being fascinated by her disappearance as a small child, after watching a programme on it, I think from the U.S,. That we think we can tell more from photographs now than the actual bones then seems incredible, And an 'Historical seamstress'! I await the TV detective programme called Stitches

This is rubbish. Everyone knows the USS Voyager will encounter the redoubtable lady and her navigater in the 24th century, alongside other 'thirty-niners' abducted by nefarious aliens and cryogenically frozen.
"for, as long as but a hundred of us remain alive, never will we on any conditions be brought under English rule. It is in truth not for glory, nor riches, nor honours that we are fighting, but for freedom - for that alone, which no honest man gives up but with life itself."

The bones of Amelia Earhart
Were found near an aeroplane spare part
She'd been trying to fit
When a falling tree hit
Her, and that was the end of Miss Earhart.
I came to realise that every time we recognise something human in creatures, we are also recognising something creaturely in ourselves. That is central to the rejection of human supremacism as the pernicious doctrine it is.

One of the daftest episodes in a notably daft series.
