Oh damn - it's only a musical, not a news item. Surely it should be "murder", though: it's usually only called an assassination when the victim is someone important.
"That bloke over there, out of Ultravox, is really childish."
"Him? Midge Ure?"
"Yes, very."

Isn't 'sleb' the new important? (I am guessing that that might be part of the point of the musical)

OK, tounge-in-cheek, but it might be the first murder in history where the police have to try and find who didn't do it.
"for, as long as but a hundred of us remain alive, never will we on any conditions be brought under English rule. It is in truth not for glory, nor riches, nor honours that we are fighting, but for freedom - for that alone, which no honest man gives up but with life itself."

While I disagree vehemently with Hopkins, this sort of glorying n the idea of her death with what seems a hint of misogyny in the last post makes me a tad uncomfortable.

But it’s acceptable because she’s right wing. Haven’t you noticed?

Katie Hopkins is a woman (allegedly), so you can't criticise her without being accused of misogyny. ::)

Some find it misogynistic to call a woman a cunt.

Not that I buy into that, I won’t have a name for my genitalia being the worst thing you can call someone. But it’s a point of view.

The only person I know in this country who has been assassinated for real recently has been Jo Cox.

The ‘allegedly’ there is misogynistic. She doesn’t conform to feminine stereotypes, therefore is only ‘allegedly’ a woman.

I don't think in itself it is necessarily misogynistic but in the post it reads like a deliberate choice based on her being a woman, and followed up with idea from SteveH that that is 'allegedly', that Hopkins is a woman seems to be of some import to posters - that's what feels misogynistic.

Well yes, and I’m still waiting for Corbyn to ask to meet with Britain First like he did the murderers of Ian Gow. But apparently they aren’t the right kind of political terrorist.

Which doesn't make any difference that you think the assassination of Hopkins is something that you can make cheap jokes about. Indeed in that sense you are mocking Jo Cox.

Actually I wrote C**t. Not to call someone a C**t who one feels to be a C**t because that person is a woman is sexism.

I don't know why you think using asterisks here makes any difference.  Perhaps thinking that female genitalia are the worst thing you can call anyone is indicative of misogyny? And of course you seem to think the killing of another human being is funny.

No. you are by equating humour at the notional demise of a celebrity who has rendered herself a mere caricature, with assassination.
I will be looking for instances when you say there should be no sacred cows in humour.
I notice that you and Rhiannon did not attack the other 'cheap jokes' so your objections can be dismissed as 'Vlad' obsession.

I suggest you go back and read what we both write.

Ah nice use of the tu quoque there, and a bit of victim blaming. Perhaps rather than looking to blame others for your burst of unpleasantness, then you look to yourself and consider how Christian that post of yours felt to write.

Victim blaming? Katie Hopkin's hasn't really been assassinated.... has she?

You think you can think of it as a caricature to joke about her murder because it is in your opinion her fault for making you do that. That's victim blaming, Any luck on you finding out how Christian you felt writing a post about how funny it might be for another  person to be murdered?
