The issue of self-identify is interesting, maybe I'm repeating myself, but in a sense we all do it.  We don't ask to see somebody's genitals, before they use the loo or a changing room.  So we trust people's self-identification.  I'm not sure how much trans people make us feel off balance, because there might be a woman with a penis.  But it's odd how trans men seem to excite less opposition, of course, some of them pass very well, as testosterone builds up muscle, deepens the voice, and so on.  I remember that Judith Butler said that all gender is drag,  which is quite funny.

I'm actually finding this emphasis on women not wanting to be in a changing room with a woman with a dick rather offensive. I know I've been in a changing room with a woman with a dick. I don't care. I really don't. I do care about my experience as a woman being erased and my voice silenced.
