Watching the BBC1 2007 series of 'Oliver Twist' on the Drama Channel. I watched first time round, seems like an aeon ago.

I mention because I think we talked about Dickens earlier this year.

I really enjoyed this particular dramatisation, true to the book, with a wonderful cast: Edward Fox is Mr Brownlow and the great Timothy Spall was Fagin, played sympathetically. 

I particularly loved the late Anna Massey as Brownlow's housekeeper, Mrs Bedwin. Nancy was realistically played by Sophie Okenado. Morven Christie was Mr Brownlow's lovely ward.

Plenty of other well known actors, it was beautifully cast, but I like this particular dramatisation of the book.

Really enjoying it.  Expect everyone else is out doing last minute stuff but I'm not, husband is atm but expect him back soon.  So nice to enjoy a classic well played.  However, wouldn't have mentioned except I thought we had talked about Dickens a while back.

Dont you worry Robbie. Dickens is always worth a mention. Currently reading A Tale of Two Cities for the first time.

Im a little bit ashamed that it'sitaken me till the age of 62 to ģet to it.

I have no excuse for my tardiness,  well unless you count reruns of The Vicar of Dibley. Which I dont think we should.

'A Tale of Two Cities' is good stuff, one of the first Dickens I ever read I think.

Trent, I had to come back and say it's nearly 5am and I am watching The Vicar of Dibley, a Christmas episode. Aw, I feel sad seeing Alice and Jim, such good characters. They were happy then though.

(I don't usually stay up all night but didn't get back from a party until about 1.30am, instead of going to bed Charlie and I decided to do some wrapping up. Though I'd had plenty to eat last night I felt hungry and we both had things to eat (& drink). He's gone up to bed now, I will follow after Dibley. Good job we don't have to get up for anything.)

Coincidentally, two local newspapers from the Midlands were running serialisations of A Tale of Two Cities earlier this year. It was the Bicester Times, it was the Worcester Times.
