I put on Colour of Spring on Friday night - still a fantastic record. I really loved Talk Talk's shift towards more minimalist and jazzy stuff.

There was one solo album (that I haven't heard) from 1998 and that was it - he turned his back on the music industry.

The solo album is worth getting but Spirit of Eden is probably my favourite.

I'll look out for it. I love Spirit of Eden for its completely stripped down spaciousness.

But Colour of Spring is the one that I always come back to, largely because I bought it when it came out and it has been part of my life (It's my life!!) more than the others. I also love how they decided to add in all those 'real' instruments - to actually want to listen to a song with banks of recorders says something!!

I got Spirit of Eden a year or so after it was released. Happened to be the right thing at the right time.
