What is your favourite sound?
« on: July 29, 2019, 11:26:39 AM »
Mine would be the sound of silence if I could get it, but as I suffer from constant tinnitus, which has got worse over the years I am never totally peaceful. :o

I too am a member of this club. It's a bugger ...

Mine is variable and sometimes I'm hardly aware of it, but at others  :(

My favourite sound is that of the City of Birmingham Symphony Orchestra playing loud bits in Elgar and Mahler and drowning out the tinnitus.

No I can't I am afraid. I am having quite a problem with this forum even though I am using the proxy site. I can't stay logged in either.

Sorry to hear it.  Others seem to be having the same problem.  I haven't had any trouble yet.  I am using Firefox to access the site.

I like the sound of children playing too, don't get a lot of that but sometimes can hear them in neighbouring gardens.

Birdsong is nice & wind through the trees.

The 'Rolling Stones', not so good for the neighbours though l have to turn the volume up just below ear damage volume, it's an involuntary action over which I have no control.

P S 'Brown Sugar' the other day, I was testing one of these 'Elixer' machines in a restaurant and got out just in time.

My age-related hearing loss is such that I can barely hear birdsong now (well, that doesn't include the songs of birds like crows).

Re favourite sounds, close run thing between listening to any of my children sleeping when they were tiny, or a popping champagne cork. Hmmm...

Yeah right - actually 37 years together if you include the seven when we lived in heinous sin before getting married.

You know that old philosophical conundrum about if a tree falls in a forrest with no-one to hear it does it still make a sound? My version is, if I'm all on my own in a forrest and express an opinion, am I still wrong?  ;)
