The architect of the Grenfell Tower refurbishment has admitted he did not read building regulations aimed at preventing cladding fires and had no idea that panels used to insulate buildings could be combustible.

When I heard it yesterday, I had to listen to the next news to make sure I'd heard correctly, especially as he did not appear to have shown any remorse but blamed another - the local authority I think.

That was my understanding. He appeared to imply it was the responsibility of the customer to ensure that approved materials would be used.

Just plainly corrupt imo.
Ah, but I was so much older then ... I'm younger than that now

My son is a copper, Sergeant, and his job is a first responder at N B C incidents, his girlfriend is a SOCO and they were both at the Grenfell Tower as soon as they were allowed access by the Fire Brigade so that could begin their investigation. The assessment of the ashes was not a job for the faint-hearted and not one many would want to do.

The thing that, and I quote, "stuck in the craws" of both these officers was the almost instant denial of responsibility from everyone connected with the maintenance and refurbisment of the building. It was a hectic game of pass-the-buck and, it appears, this remains the case.

And yet again, of course the Tories vote against the recommendations

Yes but the Prime Minister is committed to uncovering the cause of the tragedy and ensuring it never happens again.

As a first step, he is shining a green light on 10 Downing Street.

Actually, I guess that was his predecessor, judging by the date of the tweet. Anyway, it looks like he is just as committed as May was.

Might've known my MP, puce-faced buffoon Mike Penning, would be on the list.
I came to realise that every time we recognise something human in creatures, we are also recognising something creaturely in ourselves. That is central to the rejection of human supremacism as the pernicious doctrine it is.
