Oh yes, me too. What a terrible way to go after a lifetime of bringing fun and laughter to so many. I heard it on the news midday, but I'll look at the link too now.

Ecky thump...nooooo!
"for, as long as but a hundred of us remain alive, never will we on any conditions be brought under English rule. It is in truth not for glory, nor riches, nor honours that we are fighting, but for freedom - for that alone, which no honest man gives up but with life itself."

Oh shit! And it was Graeme Garden's health that had been the subject of speculation recently.
I came to realise that every time we recognise something human in creatures, we are also recognising something creaturely in ourselves. That is central to the rejection of human supremacism as the pernicious doctrine it is.

The 'I'm Sorry I Haven't a Clue Appreciation Society' Facebook group, keeping the tone suitably non-solemn, as TBT would surely have wanted:

[Post by the admin] Given the current situation Tim’s funeral will be immediate family only. However there will surely be a memorial service at some time in the future. Surely it has to feature one hymn to the tune of another.

[Member comment] Or the organist stops mid verse for a game of Pick-up hymn.....
