The pig is being used to trial it and as such isn't meant to benefit by it. Musk is hoping that eventually it might help humans with problems such as dementia and Parkinson's disease.

It pretty much is a cult. You get people insisting that he designs the cars and the rockets himself. You get people insisting that he is saving the planet with Tesla when it is really just an electric car company and it's working hard to turn as many of the Earth's resources into cars as fast as possible.
