There is no-one better qualified than Chris Grayling for this role. His managerial skill and acumen will be recorded for the astonishment of future students of management.

Wasn't it he that determined that the Probation Service should substantially privatised because profit-seeking private organisations will always perform any function far more efficiently and effectively than any public sector institution?

The rest is history.

This appointment is beyond parody: it just shows that incompetence can be a useful career attribute.

I was wondering why you were all bent out of shape by this.

But now I've just twigged that Grayling is the one who ordered a ferry service from a company that had no ships.
